In the last few months the world has totally changed. I imagine, when we leave our houses and step out into the new world we will be extremely surprised. However, if we prepare for the big transition now it should make our life easier in the next few years.

The most important thing to do now is to consider your future job. A lot of businesses have switched to online platforms and most likely will be staying there. It means we have to study how to sell products and services by means of social nets and online markets.

Everybody knows the most important part of selling product or service is attractive packaging. Catching images and stylish design make the appealing packaging for your website or social profile. Possible ways you can make appropriate photographs are taking pictures by your own phone, buying them from photo stocks or booking a professional photo session. What is the preferable option for you depends on the kind of service you offer and who are your customers.

All these ways have pros and contras, but if you decide to create your photo content with me or another photographer, please read the following suggestions which would help me understand your goals and make the best of my work.

  1. Think about “Who is my profile for?” Thoroughly describe your target audience. Which category are they? What age, gender, lifestyle, desires, preferences and hobbies.
  2. Ask yourself “Why do I need photo-content? What purpose should it have?” The answer might be to increase sales, improve brand recognition or earn trust
  3. Answer the question “What should the photo-content tell to my audience about me, product or service?” What impressions it should project to the subscribers? Is it confidence, luxury, lightness, trust, dynamics, youth or wisdom?
  4. Find and analyse photo-content of your competitors. Think what would make you stand out.
  5. Collect a mood-board with pictures which represent concept of your brand most. Keep the pictures which closely match your style.
  6. Come up with three or four stories for photo shoot, corresponding to the main idea of your profile. Think of the details and the accessories such as earrings, handbags, notebooks, cases for the phone, pens, scarfs, jewellery, rings, etc.
  7. Find a photographer whose style closely matches your mood, vision and your purposes.
  8. Explain to the photographer in details your ideas, your style, and the purposes of the photo shoot. Together choose three or four locations  for the photo session.
